Slacking

It's true: I have been slacking off a lot lately.

Instead of getting up early as I had been, and enjoying some quiet time in the mornings, I have been lounging in bed and sucking pillow every morning to 7:00 am (or later!). My writing has fallen by the wayside - again. I haven't read a novel for pleasure in months. I haven't done yoga in a loooong time. Due to the weather/street conditions, I have not run in over a week. I have been wasting my time a little too much, focusing on that which doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things. It astonishes me sometimes how I always manage to stray away from the things that bring me the most joy and pleasure.

Starting today, I am making a vow to myself to make better use of my time, the time that is for me. This means getting back on track with my early rising. This means making an effort to write, even when it's hard. This means making time to exercise, even if it's not running.

It's going to hurt to get back on track with this, but I know that it will benefit me (and those around me) in the long run.
