Okay, so everyone knows the story of the New Brunswick high school sports team tragedy that happened over the weekend. How can we not? It's been splashed all over the media since it happened. While I feel terrible for the families and friends of these people, I've got to say that I'm sick and tired of the media coverage that this is getting. Enough is enough. Let the families and the town grieve in peace.
Tonight while browsing the news online, I saw that I actually had the option to watch the TWO HOUR FUNERAL COVERAGE. This makes me sick! As a society, are we really that desperate to feed on the grief and tragedy of others? It's easy to blame the media on this one - those bastards, putting that kind of thing out there, they should be shot. Well, I gotta ask you...would they really be televising this kind of thing if the public didn't want it?
Of course they wouldn't. Shame on us.
